BeeSeek Wiki Team

This team takes care to edit this wiki. A wiki page is an open document that everyone can modify, so this team members have to check if inserted information are correct. If not you can modify the document yourself or, if you can't do it in that moment, contact another member of the team that will apply the correction.

How to edit a wiki page?

If you see that some pages are missed or needs something more, you can edit freely them. Please, do not insert wrong or not pertaining information: this changes will be rolled back.

Create a new page

If you want to create a new page, just type in your address bar of your browser the URL of the wiki page you want to create (i.e.: if you want to create the page TestPage, just write in your address bar http://wiki.beeseek.org/TestPage). If the page does not exist yet, a page with the message This page does not exist yet. You can create a new empty page, or use one of the page templates will appear to you. This page contains all necessary information to create a new page. We recommend to choose the template StandardTemplate to respect our style. Before creating the page, please check if a similar page already exists. When you create a new page, please do not use underscores in its name.

Modify an existing page

To modify an existing page, just click on the modify link aloft the page. A new page containing a modify box will appear to you. Apply your changes in this box and click on the preview button to view your modified page without saving changes. If it's all right, add a comment for your changes in the suitable box and click on the save button to publish your modified page.

Notice Macros

This wiki is supplied with some macros. We have some macros that we use to notice wiki editors and readers the status of a page. To add a macro in a page just put aloft the page, under the #language and #format tags and above the Table of Contents one or more of these lines:

  • <<Draft>> to mark a page as Under drafting

  • <<ToReview>> to mark a page that needs a revision

  • <<Obsolete>> to mark a page as Obsolete

You can also attach a message to the macro. In this case just use this syntax:

  • <<Draft(message)>>

  • <<ToReview(message)>>

  • <<Obsolete(message)>>

Marked page are automatically listed in the Teams/Wiki/ToDo page.

The BeeSeek Official Documentation

In this wiki also the Official Documentation is developed. This job is advanced with the collaboration of the Developers Team. Official documentation contains a guide to the developed softwares Source Code, its User Manuals and more other information about them. Because of the basic role of this part, please pay a particular attention while writing, we'd be very grateful to you. If you want create a new Source Code Guide page, please use the SourceTemplate page to respect our style. A basilar Python knowledge is requested.

Communicate with the team

You can communicate with the team in many ways:

  • IRC: connect to irc.freenode.net and join the channel #beeseek-wiki

  • Subscribe the Mailing List. You can do it in at the link in the table aloft. ML Subscription is strongly recommended.
  • Write to the team e-mail address. Your message will be received only by the Team Leader, so this method is not suggested for discussions which should be public.
